How to read this guide
Every map below shows its theoretical ceiling EXP/hr, the dominant mob (by EXP contribution), and a one-line reason the map is a good fit for the bracket. "Theoretical" means you kill every mob the instant it spawns and the capacity pool stays full at the solo-player rate (75% of total spawn points; see the spawn rate guide for the model). In practice, no player hits these numbers. Use them to compare maps.
Level 1-10
Quests carry this whole bracket. The starter quest chain on Maple Island and the first Lith Harbor quests (Olaf and Teo, from lv 8) hand out more than enough EXP to hit level 10. If you're already through the quests and need a map to finish the last bar or two, these are the places to be.
Broad mix from Snails up through Ribbon Pigs at lv 10. The mob levels climb with you, so there is no map-hop at lv 5 or lv 8.
Slimes and Stumps with a few Dark Stumps at the top end. Cleanest pure lv 5-11 grind in this bracket, no outleveled stragglers eating clear time.
Broad lv 4-19 spread with Red Snails for early kills and Dark Stumps for late.
Level 11-15
You've hit 1st job and want to stop Blue Snailing. These maps move you past the starter zones into Victoria's dedicated hunting grounds. Keep questing in parallel, you'll level faster than pure grinding for at least another 10 levels.
Single-mob map at exactly lv 15, one of the cleanest grinds in the bracket. Subway density wins out.
Green Mushroom-heavy with a few Axe Stumps and Dark Axe Stumps mixed in. Roughly 2x the EXP/hr of the East-side equivalent thanks to denser Green Mushroom spawns.
Green Mushroom farm with a few low-level Slimes mixed in.
Level 16-20
This is where pure grinding starts to pull ahead of quests for EXP/hr, especially once you unlock your class's main damage skill. Dangerous Steam has the highest theoretical EXP/hr in this bracket, with the subway Stirge map close behind.
Stirge + Horny Mushroom + Zombie Mushroom combo for lv 20-24 players, bit more variety.
Single-mob Stirge map with a very tight layout, an easy pick for mages and bowmen.
Hidden Street bonus room with Green Mushroom + Horny Mushroom. You reach it from the Kerning PQ bonus stage.
Level 21-25
Almost everything worth grinding in this bracket sits inside the Ant Tunnel. Multiple maps with Horny Mushroom, Zombie Mushroom, and Evil Eye in overlapping level ranges.
Horny + Zombie Mushroom and nothing else. Ideal for lv 22-25.
Deepest Ant Tunnel map, broader spread up to Jr. Boogie. Stepping stone to the Evil Eye caves.
Perfect for lv 23-27 players. Adds Evil Eye to the Ant Tunnel mix for a big EXP/hr bump.
Level 26-30
Evil Eye is the bracket's main draw, but the Ant Tunnel maps out-grind the dedicated Evil Eye caves on spawn-point density. Clear your Sleepywood quests too, the level ranges line up.
Broadest spread in the cluster: Horny + Zombie Mushroom + Evil Eye + a handful of Jr. Boogies at lv 35. Best if you plan to stay on the same map through 30.
Evil Eye dominant with Horny Mushroom and Zombie Mushroom carrying the lower end. Higher total EXP/hr than the dedicated Evil Eye caves once spawn-point density is in the math.
Near-pure Evil Eye at lv 27 with only a rare lv 35 Jr. Boogie 2 on a timed spawn. Lower total EXP/hr than the Ant Tunnel maps, but if you want an almost single-mob grind with no off-spawns to dodge, this is the cave.
Level 31-35
The Kerning Subway Line 2 area starts paying off here, thanks to its Jr. Wraith density. The Burnt Land V is the off-subway alternative for warriors and bowmen who want Fire Boar at lv 32 instead.
Jr. Wraith grind kicks in. Subway density plus perfect lv match for 32-34 players.
Alt subway route to Jr. Wraith. Less popular than Line 2 so potentially quieter.
Fire Boar grind with a few Lupins and Dark Axe Stumps for variety. Best non-subway option in the bracket, and the quests out here pay EXP too.
Level 36-40
The Florina Beach crab maps are the late-30s standout. Low PDEF, high density, no knockback issues. Monkey Forest is the jungle alternative for anyone grinding Lupin + Zombie Lupin.
Lorang density with Lupin support. One of the highest EXP/hr maps in the game for this level.
Alternate Lorang map, slightly smaller. Can be quieter when the main Lorang spot is packed.
Mixed Lupin + Zombie Lupin, lets you stretch into lv 40+ territory as you level up.
Level 41-45
This is the hardest bracket to grind; gear starts to decide your clear speed. The Monkey Swamp maps are the forgiving option: Zombie Lupin's low defense keeps your damage respectable even if your gear is behind. Forgotten Entrance III, tucked past the forest north of Ellinia, is the option if you want Glowshroom and Raffle in the lv 33-40 band.
Glowshroom + Raffle + Curse Eye in the lv 33-40 band. All three are within reach for a lv 41-45 player and total mob density beats the Sleepywood Drake area.
Zombie Lupin density for players who broke into lv 41+. Keep moving and you can skip the Jr. Neckis entirely.
Hidden Street alternative that fewer players know about.
Level 46-50
The home stretch to level 50, where the first test ended. With 3rd job confirmed, this is now the midgame. The Kerning Subway Wraith maps own the ranking: Line 2 Area 2 clears 3.7M theoretical EXP/hr, the highest of any map in the game. Hot Sand on Florina Road is the Tortie + Clang alternative; Lightning mages get an elemental bonus on the Clangs, though the more numerous Torties have no weakness.
Mixed Jr. Wraith and Wraith pool with a few Jr. Necki spawns you can ignore. Best pick once you are lv 47-48 and can two-shot Wraiths.
Pure Wraith at lv 48, nothing else spawns. Lightning mages will love the layout. Slightly lower raw EXP than Area 2 but every kill is on-level.
The other pure Wraith subway. A bit smaller than Line 2 Area 3 (59 vs 68 spawn points), but plays identically. Pick whichever is less crowded.
Honorable mention: PQs and party bonus
If you're in a party, the lineup shifts. Kerning Party Quest unlocks at lv 21 and rewards far more EXP/hr than any solo map through the mid-20s. Past lv 30, organized parties on the Wraith, Drake, and Lupin maps with a full 6-person stack multiply their effective rates well past any solo number. The EXP Table guide's Party Bonus section has the full math on Classic World's buffed party EXP.
